Nursery Slopes at Ski Club

The project entailed civil works remodelling of the existing nursery slopes at the Ski Club of Ireland in Kilternan to create larger, newly graded slopes and install two new novice-friendly travellator lifts, one per slope.

The two slopes were designed to work together as one, being located one above the other. Re-shaping the gradient between them allows for the slopes to be used separately or combined, catering for all levels of skier. Crib-lock walls and gabbions were used to provide support to the re-graded slopes.

The material used is layered to create a cushioned base for a safe learning experience. Two new electrically powered Sunkist travellator lifts were installed to service the slopes. The facility was floodlit to allow night-time operations and an integrated water lubrication system is used with the slopes.

Power and water services were brought to the slope location and a new tank and pump installed to supply the lubrication system.
