Construction of new modern exhibition space to the side and rear of the existing town hall and a new European green oak gantry in the lobby. Some cleaning and repointing of stone parapets on the battlements was also carried out.
Some interesting defensive features were uncovered for exhibition purposes such as the machicolations inside the front archway. These gaps in the floor above allowed defenders to throw rocks or hot liquids down at attacking forces below.
