Rathfarnham Castle

This ancient castle dates back to the Elizabethan period. Lissadell were happy to be involved in ensuring this important building continues to survive and thrive in the 21st century. Lissadell carried out two projects here in close succession – one interior and one exterior and were to the forefront in the use of traditional methods on with the reintroduction of lime as a building material through the application of lime render and lime wash to the exterior wall finish. Construction of new steel staircase internally and restoration of upper floor structures also took place.
